That’s a great question, and I love the implication
of the question, namely, that the Sabbath did change. Part of the problem we face in our time, is
a lot of people think the Sabbath is entirely passé. One place I’d begin is with Revelation 1:10,
where John says, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.” For those who think that the Sabbath is completely
ended with the coming of Jesus, and that all days are alike in the new covenant, they misuse
a statement of Paul, the fact that John says there is a Lord’s Day in the new covenant
shows there is a day set apart in a unique way for the Lord. And so that’s a place to begin. I think Colossians chapter 2, which talks
about the Sabbath being past shows that the old Sabbath, “the Sabbaths,” literally in
Greek, are passed away, and then we look at the Apostolic practice of frequently meeting
on the first day and we begin to see this pattern emerging from the New Testament, that
whereas Jews rested on the seventh day, Christians rest and worship on the first day, and then
I think theologians have helpfully theologized that. They said, “When God created the world, He
gave all mankind, not just His people, all mankind before the fall, the Sabbath day to
establish a pattern of work and then rest. But with the coming of Christ, that pattern
changes because Christ has brought that ultimate rest to us. So we begin with rest, and then we work out
of that rest. And I think that’s a really helpful way of
thinking about why God changed this so that the resurrection of Christ is absolutely central
in the life and experience of the church.

  1. Why would you say God changed it. There's nowhere in the bible that says He did. You proved that point. However history shows the ruler of Rome who was *saved changed the Sabbath to Sunday to distract or entice the pagans who on that day were worshipping their SunGod, on Sunday.

  2. Gregorian calendar is not Gods calendar. Christians were schemed by the Roman Catholic Church and paganism. I don’t attend church anymore. I can’t find any Truth in those places

  3. I love Ligonier but IMO this is a highly inadequate explanation. The reason I say that is … with the title of this video, I think most listeners would be interested in biblical references (which he barely provided any). I started to try to confirm through scripture what he was explaining but I just gave up trying to follow his line of thought.

So I just Googled >> how did the sabbath get changed from Saturday to Sunday?
There is a lot of information out there that says that there is nowhere in the bible does it say that the Sabbath should be on Sunday.

This article >> … It says that the Catholic Church changed observing Sunday instead of Saturday. In a Q&A, I read the following.
    Q. By what authority did the Church substitute Sunday for Saturday?

    A. The Church substituted Sunday for Saturday by the plenitude of that divine power which Jesus Christ bestowed upon her!

    —Rev. Peter Geiermann, C.SS.R., (1946), p. 50. "

I don't think 2 minutes is enough time to adequately answer the question.

So that leaves me to wonder, are most Christians doing the wrong thing by not holding the Sabbath holy?

  4. "Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands [the ten commandments] and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever PRACTICES and TEACHES these commands [the ten commandments] will be called great in the kingdom of heaven" (Matt 5:19).

  5. The fact that the Apostles gathered together with the church: (first real Christians), to pray and praise God on the first day says it all, "Christians" who entrap themselves with forcing onto them the sabbath should in order to make sense keep and celebrate all festivals and traditions from rituals and ceremonies to animal sacrifices for they don't need Christ, for them His sacrifice wasn't enough.
And yet He abolished all of that and gave us freedom not just from the Law that none is capable of keeping it "for if you keep all but one you are guilty of braking it all" but we are free indeed!
In fact we have to live a holy life but we have in heaven our Lord that intercede for us for when we fail…we repent and keep going.
That's the sound doctrine, that we keep Jesus, any and every day of our lives.

  6. This explanation (in the video) is as good as (I'm afraid) Christian explanations get regarding the Sabbath. Which is to say: The logic is tortured, convoluted, and unscriptural. On the first point: Why make the assumption that when it says "the Lord's Day" in Revelation 1, that it's talking about Sunday or the Sabbath or the "time to do church" or anything like that? If there is any likely connection to be made, it's to the future "Day of the LORD" – the day of the end of all things – which would thematically be appropriate for a book where the author is transported to the events of the last days. To posit that it's referring to the 1st day of the work is a capital-A "Assumption" with no basis whatsoever in the text itself.
The video doesn't get much better from there… though it's totally accurate to say that the church has "theologized" the Sabbath, and in my opinion, has done so NOT "helpfully" (1:10), it's accurate to say this has caused the Sabbath to "pass away" (0:52) for Christians (not really; just in their heads). This is in direction contradiction to what Jesus Himself said (Matt 5:17-20) and what He and His disciples actually did (in the gospels and throughout the book of Acts, respectively) – which is to say, they kept the Sabbath and tended to (even after his death and resurrection) end up in the synagogues on Shabbat. There is no NT evidence that Christians "met for worship" on the 1st day of the week. Funds were collected on the first day – probably Saturday night after Sabbath had ended (because Jews don't conduct business on Shabbat), and in at least one instance – possibly it was habit – they gathered to eat a meal on the 1st day of the week (which also was likely on Saturday night after the Sabbath). On that same occasion, Paul spoke until after midnight (Acts 20). Aside from that, that's about all one can find regarding the 1st day of the week. It's not a new Sabbath, it didn't replace the Sabbath, and mostly it's a monument to the propensity of Christians to misunderstand their Bibles.

  7. "We begin with rest and then work our way out of that rest"?
SMH. You can work your way out of that rest all you want.

  8. We must all “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.” May we be gracious to take into account (as God does) the many believers in countries with no place to worship, those in hospitals and the homebound with no way to worship or take communion, and those on the streets who are seeking Jesus. In fact, serving these people on whatever day we consider the Sabbath – would that not be the sweetest sacrifice to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ?

May we not break the Lord’s Sabbath Day by arguing on whatever day He’s set in our hearts to do so, but edify, love each other, and glorify the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May we also be blessed and so grateful with the means God has given us today, and not depend solely on history, but look to the Holy Spirit for individual guidance. Finally, let us take care before we cast judgment on this matter, for “we will all one day stand before the Throne of Grace.” God bless. 🕊

  9. Yep, Christ is our rest. You cannot claim to keep the Jewish Sabbath and rest in Christ it's either one or the other you are in the new or old covenant. And you don't want to be in the old, acting as Christ has not come. The Sabbath points to Christ who fulfilled the Sabbath as He did to all the ceremonies.

  10. “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭ESV‬

“One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:5-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    Hope these help

  11. It seems that the Lord gave the seventh day to people in Genesis 2:1-3, long before worship services were held and Sabbath laws were given. He indeed blessed that day in particular and made it holy, "because on it God rested [ceased] from all His work that He had done in creation." So it seems the specialness of that seventh day begins with the ceasing from our own labors. Since this was pre-Law, it does not seem like a law that we can set aside as being part of an older covenant (now that we have a new one), as some indicate below. In Ezekiel 20:12, the Lord said He gave us the Sabbaths to remind us that He has sanctified us, as He did with the seventh day.

  12. With all respect, first Sabbath is not saturday, Sabbath is rest…Saturday y the name that was given to the day that the lord give us as a mystery he said Sabbath not Saturday…Saturday is in honor to Saturn the planet by the Greeks. There's a mystery people open the eyes of the spirit and renew the understanding of your mind in yours Spirit. God dindt call the days by names. He said day one, day two, day three, day four, day five, day six, and SABBATH A MISTERY HE DO NOT SAID SATURDAY. HE SAID SABAATH…REST. Iam not jude iam not Adventist iam a believer of the spcriture, iam ISRAEL THE BRITE, THE SON, JESUS.

  13. A very important point overlooked in today's church is the true meaning of the 4th Commandment. The Sabbath Commandment is about Christ, His 7 Feast Work equals our Eternal Sabbath Rest. Looking at Exodus 16, we see twice the Manna from Heaven given on Friday, the sixth day, why? so the people of God could have their 7th Day, Sabbath Rest. Even the land had twice the crops in the 6th year, so the people of God could have their 7th Year Sabbath Rest. In John 6, we see Jesus referring to Himself as being the Manna from Heaven, the Bread of Life, He Himself actually even being Born in Bethlehem, meaning House of Bread. The Messiah was Crucified on Friday, the sixth day, so the people of God could have their Eternal 7th Day Sabbath Rest.  His Work equals our Eternal Sabbath Rest.  We can't work our way to Heaven.  The Sabbath Commandment is the Gospel.

  14. Whenever you see "the first day of the week" always keep in mind the 7 Feasts/Holy Convocations from Leviticus 23. There were 3 Feast Weeks that were mandatory for all Hebrew males (Exodus 23, 34 and Deuteronomy 16). The 3 were Tabernacles (Sukkot), Unleavened Bread and Weeks. Weeks was 7 Weeks of 7 or 49 Days. The next Day was Pentecost, Day 50. You mentioned Acts 20:7, this was the "first day of the Week" of Week 1 of the 7 Weeks of 7, how do we know that? Look at Acts 20 verse 16, we see Pentecost listed there. Another Verse is 1 Corinthians 16:2, same thing here, look at 1 Corinthians 16:8, there is Pentecost again. The most classic is after the Resurrection. Jesus Rose on the "first day of the Week" of Week 1 of the 7 Weeks of 7. First Fruits is Day 1 of the 49. He appeared for 49 Days during Weeks. Read Acts 1 and 2, count backwards from Pentecost morning, there is a Sabbath's Day journey (about a 1,000 yards) then we are at Day 49 at the Ascension.

  15. Whichever is the Sabbath day, I have never heard such a mumbo-jumbo explanation of why it is what it is. It would likely leave most people completely befuddled.

  16. The Bible says “ 6 days I am to work and I must rest one day . That day is call the seventh day but in reality God gave the days no name..

  17. Then does the Law and punishment for not keeping the "new sabbath" still apply? If not, why not?
If the "new sabbath" is a commandment, to rest and worship, from God that that most do not keep, how can you call them Christian if they completely ignore a commandment from God?
If you do still fellowship with them as "Christians" why not fellowship with "Christians" who have multiple wives, or practice lying, or murder, or idolators?

  18. John MacArthur has a brilliant sermon on it tilted "The Lord's Day". Wonderful sermon and he also has sermons on how the Israelites viewed the Sabbath and how the coming of Jesus and his death changed the Sabbath and then the apostles understanding of Sunday in light of the events i.e. the resurrection, the two appearances to the disciples, Pentecost and why we worship on Sunday.

  19. Another false doctrine! So sad that a lot of people don't study the Bible and just believe in men.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The catholic cult admits that THEY changed the Sabbath day. Research, it's in their literature.

The 10 conmandments haven't changed. Plus they're written on people's heart. No one can modify that.

There's so much more to be said but I'll stop here…

  20. Acts 20: 7 And G1161 upon G1722 the first G3391day of the week G4521, when the disciples G3101 came together G4863 to break G2806 bread G740, Paul G3972 preached G1256 unto them G846, ready G3195 to depart G1826 on the morrow G1887; and G5037 continued G3905 his speech G3056 until G3360 midnight G3317.

  21. woww….I can't believe you use that verse to make a conclusion that the sabbath was changed. First of, the sabbath never changes and never will. After you read that verse, it should have lead you to Mark 2:27. Only if anyone is ignorant to think that the sabbath was changed. The sabbath will even continue on the new earth after the 1000 years. Isaiah 66:22. Also, the earth was created in 6 days and rested the 7th day. Sunday is the first day. No where in the Bible where it says Sunday was changed to Saturday. If you can say that the sabbath was kept in the old testament, and then after Jesus's resurrection, it was changed, then again my brother I can tell you that if you're pastor, I do not think you preach the truth to your congregation at all because this truth is plainly clear like the nose on someone's face Mark 16:1-2 (some other verses…..Hebrew 4:9. Check Acts 17:2-3, and 18:4. So I have a question. Was Paul after or before Christ? If after, the verses do not say Sunday as you said with your mouth that Jesus changed it….nah haa. There's going to be a time coming not long from now where the whole world will be demanded to worship on Sunday (as was asked in Daniel 3 by King Nebuchadnezzar) because it's satan's day chosen by the Catholic church. Please do your research before leading people astray. We're all brothers. We here to bring clarity to those in darkness by God's help. Be blessed! Check the link below pleaseeeee!

  23. God Hallowed and blessed the Sabbath day. Before Moses the day was a blessing and not a curse to die for. After Jesus the day returns to this blessing status. Under the law it became a curse for men to keep but God did not remove the blessing and the hallowing of this day. We are grafted into the tree of the Jews as one flesh. Now Yeshua came to give us grace and by grace he removed the curse of the law but not the law. The law killed because no man could keep it but now Jesus came so that men could keep the law by faith and made keeping the law a blessing. He told John thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness, you will now be blessed for keeping faith with god and he will complete a work in you and with a new heart we will try to keep the law. By faith you will not be killed for the sake of the law but blessed and made desirable to our holy father, and this is not works but by faith.
You will not loose your salvation for not keeping the entire law but when he met the rich man whom kept the commandments he greatly loved him for he was greatly becoming to him. If you love him and his goodness, Love the eternal father seek his will daily to keep and pray that you are kept from temptation. Each days evil is sufficient to itself the only day that is blessed and hallowed is the day God completed the work. If he blessed then those that keep it how will you get the blessing and communion with God if you do not try to by faith keep that day, Remember that day. Remembering it, is now blessing if you do and not a law to kill you.
So Jesus could have a freedom on the sabbath for he knew it as blessing and not curse. So the law becomes blessing to those that will want to keep them and love is the fulfillment of the law. So Law became freedom for us to be blessed by that law… It is not that we should sin freely, that is not our freedom and many will be cast out who do not want to keep faith with Jesus. But our freedom is to Keep the Gospel of Christ for it is his work, touch not the glory, He did this, and here we seek the Kingdom of Heaven. Then as he told John the Baptist, Thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. In the gospel you are saved by his work and you give him faith and Then all is added to you and you study to show yourself approved. But also one who does not make his road a road of stumbling.
The Sabbath, remember the Sabbath, was before the law ,a day blessed and hallowed, and after Jesus removed not the law but the curse of the law. Now keeping the law by faith gives us blessing. Keeping the day of creation on the day God blessed it gives to us the blessing of keeping that day. You should consider keeping the Sabbath and blessing and hallowing it for by him it is removed from the curse of the law to the blessing that it originally was and we may find blessing in this day. Test this word with prayer and see if there might be value there. I will seek the Lord on the Sabbath until he tells me not to.
I do not tell you to be Adventist for his road is not a road of stumbling and even a fool will not be misled. Under the law man was made for the Sabbath but under grace ,the blessing of God, the Sabbath was made for man… No longer death but life, now it is lawful to seek the sheep and help the poor and love your neighbor on the Sabbath and it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness… God bless you. Sunday worship is not a reason to loose your salvation and your good works will be seen as becoming you if done with faith but how will you receive the blessing of the day you do not keep by faith. there is power for God to honor that blessing of that day perhaps to give us greater strength in Jesus to resist evil and heal, pour out the blessing… I will keep this day till he tells me not to. I am the least and my peace will remain.

  24. The observance of the Sabbath as the day to rest became an INTEGRAL part of God's Law given to Moses at Mount Sinai (God's Law could not be obeyed and followed if the Jews did not kept the Sabbath) for Jews to obey not for the gentiles. The Law given by God to Moses, with the observance of the Sabbath as one of its many requirements, was EXACTLY what set APART the Jews from the gentile nations as God's people!!!!!!!.

Is the Law (10 commandments) given by God to Moses GOOD . PERFECT and HOLY?, of course IT IS but because of our innate sinful and depraved nature we are unable to follow it and to live by it!.At least that is what Paul taught on:Romans 7 : 15-25

15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature[b] a slave to the law of sin. .

That is why God decided through His Grace to send His only begotten Son to die for our sins (all sins, past, present and future) and to fulfill the Law in all its aspects and forms.Romans 10:9-10 explains it clearly:
Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

We are only saved through God's grace and through faith in Jesus Christ, on Romans 10:9-10 Paul did not mentioned the observance of : 1-The Law 2-water baptism or 3-the Sabbath as a requirement for salvation (those are just shadows of spiritual things to come, Jesus Christ IS OUR SALVATION)!.The only ones adding the observance of the Sabbath as a requirement for salvation are members of a cult called the 7th Day Adventists!.Was Abraham justified by God because Abraham tithed? (gave to Melchizedek 10% of his possessions) or was it because Abraham rested on the Sabbath?.NOPE, Abraham was ONLY justified because of his FAITH in God!.Does following the 10 commandments saves us , NO because only by God's Grace and through FAITH in Jesus Christ can we be saved , Romans 10:9-10.Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. WITHOUT FAITH it IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD!.

Find me a verse, after the ten commandments were given to Moses: Exodus 20:2-17, in the WHOLE Bible (FROM Exodus 20:2-17 to Revelation 22:20) that God demanded the gentile nations to rest on the Sabbath and to obey the 10 commandments given to the Jews , if you find it I will worship on the Sabbath. While you are at it find me a verse from Acts 2:1-13 to Revelation 22:20 that shows born again Christians members of the bride of Christ (DO NOT SHOW ME JEWS/ISRAELITE) worshiping or resting on the Sabbath. Good luck on that one friend!.

  25. Nowhere in the Bible do you see anyone worshipping on Sunday, Jew or Christian. Just because they met occasionally to break bread on Sunday does not indicate that the day of worship was changed to Sunday.

  26. Christ did not change the law, but came to fulfill it! Sunday worship came 300 years after the death and resurrection of Christ, when Constatine changed the law. But this had nothing to do with Jesus changing the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st. He honored the Sabbath on the 7th day throughout his entire life, while teaching that we are to obey the law completely. 💜

  27. "The Sabboth"

Jesus IS the Sabboth. All the physical things in the Old Testament are physical examples and pictures of the spiritual things of God under the New Testament. The Sabboth of the Old Teatament was a physical example and picture of the spiritual Sabboth under the New Testament by the Holy Spirit. We receive rest when we come to Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest… for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing… "

    Matthew 11:28 and Isaiah 28:11 & 12.

    The Truth About Salvation:

Jesus Is God Who Was Manifest In The Flesh:

  28. God didn't change anything. The Sabbath is still the Sabbath. Man made his own version of the Lord's day and called it Sunday in honor of Sun worship. The bible doesn't say anything about changing God's weekly Sabbath. Both Jesus and the apostles worshiped on Saturday, never on Sunday.

  29. Interesting. Used scriptures to support the observation of the Sabbath, but did not use a single one to support the 'change' of the Sabbath. I guess it turns out God wasn't serious about the Sabbath that he allowed it to be 'changed.' Jews got it wrong again…it seems?

  30. …the early Christians met on the first day therefore God changed the Sabbath to Sunday. LOL bad logic = bad theology

  31. Please forgive me for this, but there are those who consider Sunday the sabbath and there are those who consider Saturday the sabbath. I know that one group must be wrong so why not treat both of those days the same. Covering all of the bases that way, unless everybody's wrong and the sabbath is on Monday. If so, God please forgive me for mowing my lawn on Monday.

  32. No where in scripture. The Sunday Sabbath is something rooted in Roman paganism and a representation of religious reaction to the revolt against Hadrian after the Jews were defeated.

You are wrong. 1 Corinthians 10 warns of celebrating anything in the name of God rooted in paganism. You can take Easter and Christmass with that too.

  33. The ten commandments say that you shall keep Gods commandment to keep the 6th the Sabbath. I know that Jesus did a lot of things on the Sabbath, but He never commanded us to move the Sabbath to Sunday. Jesus did command us that if you love me you will keep my commandments. So If Jesus never said to worship on Sunday, but did tell us to keep His commandments, Am I following man's rule to worship on Sunday, or am I following God's law to keep His commandments? I haven't found anyone who can answer this. I don't attend church on Sunday because the Commandments say the 6th day. I want to follow Gods law not man's. It's eternity that is at stake!

  34. He teaching false doctrine roots from paganism and Catholicism..
JESUS kept the 7thday sabbath (saturday) just like the Jews.. was he not king of the Jews??
Are we not Jews inwardly who keep the law including the 4th commandment .
Romans 2:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Mark 2:27-28 King James Version (KJV)

27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Malachi 3:6 King James Version (KJV)

6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Hebrews 13:8 King James Version (KJV)

8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

If it was good enough for JESUS it's good enough for me .. nowhere in bible did they change it to Sunday.

  35. Romans 14:5 One man esteemth one day above another esteemth everyday alike man be fully persuded in his own mind

  36. The Bible says many many times…. the Sabbath is the 7th day….. what we call Saturday…. and it HAS NEVER CHANGED.

  37. The Bible says that the 7th day Sabbath is Sunday not Saturday. And woe to the false prophets that go around misleading souls and sending them to hell for not keeping Gods commandments.

  38. 1. "On the Lord's Day"–any other reference to "Day of the Lord" (the other way to write Lord's Day) refers to–what? The end day of Judgement. And funnily enough, that is what John is about to speak of.
    2. Colossians: The statement isn't the wiping out of all the commandments or else you Christians can go out and murder and adulterate all you like. This is talking TO believers in defense of their keeping these things in the presence of their family and friends who were berating them for leaving their pagan worship.
    3. Apostolic practice: Spare me your reference to the "first day of the week". The Greek in Acts 20:7 does NOT contain the words "first" "day" or even "week"–The Greek mia ton sabbaton means "one of the sabbaths" referring to sabbath count between Passover and Shavuot. And EVEN if they meet on the first day or every day–that's not a Sabbath. A Sabbath is a day to rest. If you want to consider apostolic practice, where's Acts 15:20-21???? Where James offers PAUL and the counsel the decision that new Galatian believers (as that was the question Paul and Barnabas traveled all the way to Jerusalem to resolve) 1) give up pagan ways, and 2) attend the synagogue ON THE SABBATH to learn the Torah.

There's no "pattern." There were assemblies observing Sabbath in 325AD–we know that because Constantine issued an edict making it illegal to–as a result of the NIcene sell-outs (only 200 of 1800 assemblies) to Roman pagan state approval.

Reading comprehension: Christians should try it sometime.

  39. Nope totally wrong. James the true disciple vs Paul, the false disciple. Paul was an agent of the satan's church which is The little horn who is prophesied to chnage times and laws. With paul, working on his personal way to trap the gentiles on a new law and religion, became the pillars of the roman catholic church.

This church deceived the whole world. And only a remnant christian church on the end times shall expose this blasphemy.

Only by constantine's decree, the sabbath was changed to sunday. Constantine, inspired by the spirit of satan was off to destroy the people of the true God.

All protestant denomination who keeps sunday rather than saturday holy are now sister churches of the pagan roman catholic church.

The whole world was deceived indeed.

  40. Genesis 2 says the 7th day is the one God set apart for holy use, not Sunday or any other day. God changes not, and neither did His stance on Sunday-keeping being an abomination that provokes Him to wrath(Eze. 8:15-17). A little known fact among Bible readers is that in Exo. 31:12-17, God set aside the observance of the weekly Sabbath as a separate covenant that was to be kept forever. So even if the other 9 commandments were designated as temporary(which they weren't), God still said the Sabbath was established as an eternal covenant unto itself.

The Sunday-keeper might argue that it was only given to Israel/Jews, but Paul saying a true Christian is a spiritual Jew(Rom. 2:29) and that the Church is "the Israel of God"(Gal. 6:16) provides even less room for an excuse to continually reject God's Sabbaths as something that doesn't apply to them.

  41. Garbage talk. Matthew 5:17-20; Luke 16:17; Acts 17:2 (Sabbath is Paul's custom); Matthew 12:8 (Jesus the lord of Sabbath. Sabbath is the Lord's Day). Not all who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom but those who do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21) and Sabbath is one of the Father's will.

  42. No you are wrong, that is a complete lie. False prophet. Jesus did not change anything, he even states it, that he came not to change the law but to reaffirm it.

  43. When and where is the Sabbath Day?

    The Bible states the following:

    Isaiah 66:1-2

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest (Sabbath, atonement)?
For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

    Isaiah 56:1-2

Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

    Matthew 5:14-16

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

    Mark 2:27-28

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

    Genesis 1:3-5

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

    Hebrews 4:9-11

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

    Exodus 20:8-11

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The work of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I understand the whole concept of rehearsing the righteous acts. But would not the man himself be the Sabbath Day?

  44. luke 23-56 and they returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested the sabbath day according to the commandments……..john 14 15 if you love me keep my commandments…..john 15…10 if ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my love even as I have kept my father's commandments and abide in his love…..acts 13 14…. and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day…42 and when the jews were gone out of the synagogue the gentiles besought that these words might be preaced to them the next sabbath…44 and the next sabbath day came almost the whole city…….acts 16…13 and on the sabbath……..acts 15…21 for moses of old time hath in every city that preach him being read in the synogue every sabbath day ACTS 17 2 and paul as hiss manner was in unto them and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures……acts 18 4 every sabbath…….ROMANS 7 12… WHEREFORE THE LAW IS HOLY AND THE COMMANDMENTS HOLY AND JUST AND GOOD……HEBREWS 4– 4 FOR HE SPAKE IN A CERTAIN PLACE OF THE SEVENTH DAY ON THE WISE AND GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS…..1 JOHN 5 3.. FOR THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVIOS…….REVELATION 12 17 WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST….REVELATION 14 12 HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS HERE ARE THEY THAT KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND THE FAITH OF JESUS…REVELATION 22 14 BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS

  45. The kjv says that in Hebrews 4 if he had changed the sabbath day he would of told us so. It says that the sabbath day remains. God did not change the sabbath which is from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. The sabbath is always Saturday.
    Sunday is worshipping the sun
Mark 2:27 say that the sabbath was made for man.
Revelation 1 ljv John was in the sprite on the Lord's day.

  46. The Sabbath did not change. Hebrews 4: 8-10 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Who are God's people in the New Covenant? Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  47. Don't forget the you all Sunday preachers use to teach that the sabbath was done away with.
You know that you deceiving people.
In Hebrews 4 kjv God says that he did not change the sabbath day, its says that if God had changed the sabbath day he would of told man so. So there remains a sabbath rest to the people of God. The sabbath is not Sunday its Saturday
Sunday is idolatry it is worshipping of the sun God.

  48. The Sabbath never changed. Excellent video explanation at (119 Ministries). They carefully explain why it hasn't and what scriptures are used to support that it isn't relevant and/or why on Sunday and then patiently through scripture debunk those ideas.

  49. The Christians that believe that the Sabbath and other shadow laws are “passé” are far more consistent than the Reformed Sunday Sabbatarians view. That verse he quoted proves nothing at all.

Even in the Catholic Church “Lord’s Day” wasn’t observed as a replacement for the Sabbath until way later. The practice of Sunday Sabbatarianism” evolved over time.

However I won’t judge people on days they want to keep. If you want a sabbatical rest on Sunday or Saturday go for it.

  50. Why is he lying? That verse of the apostles meeting on the first day of the week says nothing about it being the Sabbath.

A great Bible study on the truth about this claim:

  51. Oh my goodness sir. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. It is from your platform that you will be held to something more.

  52. Men have no business changing or making days for the Lord! Orthodox Christianity has been teaching lies for nearly 2000 years. All the apostles and early members were Jewish, the Lord himself follow the calendar in which he gave them, observed all the days that he gave them…. And even after the messiahs death the apostles and All members still follow the days that he gave them, those who truly follow the Messiah it is time to shake off these pagan traditions. It's time to follow elohim the way yeshua followed him and the way his apostles and the first members followed him until the west corrupted it with pagan traditions☝️

  53. But yashua says in the New Testament he did not come to change or do away with the law nothing changed when Messiah came to be crucified except sacrificial law

  54. Is the John in Revelation the same John that walked with Jesus on the earth as an apostle? I don't recall the apostles changing the day they worshiped after Jesus returned to heaven. It's more likely that when Jesus referred to the Lord's Day in Revelation, he was talking about the Sabbath. John never worshiped on one Sunday (1st day of the week)

  55. Thsabbath day is the only commandment that God said remember to keep it holy , it's like the lord God knows the devil will change it ,that's why he said (remember to keep the sabbath day holy )the catholic church comes up with all the lies to change it for their intereste .. I wander how many lies the catholic church have been telling over the years

  56. Contradict with yahweh are you not afraid of his commandments remember the sabbath day to keep it holy may yahuah teach and speak to you could bow how sabbath is very important it is a connection to him and to us read the Bible not your own understanding

  57. Wrong… Absolutely wrong…. Which day is belong to God? not the sunday.. Its only the Saturday Sabbath Day..Isaiah 58:13.. now stop your false teaching..Sabbath was not only fir Jews.. it is for all the man kind

  58. Catholics changed the Sabbath to Sunday! Man did this! God said remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy! So from sun down of Friday to sun down on Saturday is the Sabbath! I have been going to Church on Sunday! I will observe the Sabbath now! I don't have any Church's around me that observes the Sabbath but that doesn't stop me! I will spend that day praying and reading the word! 🙏

  59. Only LIARS say that the messiah changed it to the 1st day when he came and died ans resurrected, HE NEVER STATED THAT OR INTENDED THAT!
    aka BLASPHEMY!

  60. We must take into consideration that Christ was condemned by the religious by "working" on the Sabbath by healing. The very strict Jews argue that since you cannot cook on the Sabbath is putting milk and sugar in tea considered cooking!! Colossians 2:16 it speaks of not being judged about "sabbaths". Christ is "Lord of the Sabbath" the rest is Him and in Him. We are to rest because none of our works work. Out fruit comes from our regeneration and must be apparent, our rest is in Him that He has covered all the works by the Cross. So in the end Saturday in the Mosaic law is the Sabbath but one must decide what you will honour.

  61. This was a ton of man-made assumptions. You Sabbath Breakers better repent, before you meet the grave! Matthew 5:19, Christ warned you'll be called the least in the kingdom. God willing, that you make it in the kingdom, at all.

  62. This is wrong on so many levels. The Roman Catholic Church changed the Sabbath day. Now Christians did meet on Sunday and we do rest in Jesus we should remember the Sabbath day and all God’s glory keeping it a day of rest and remembrance of all he’s done for us. Another thing Early Christians preached to the Jews on the Sabbath, gentiles on Sunday.

  63. The LORD's day is the Sabbath!

(Isaiah 58:13,14) "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on {my holy day}; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

  64. WITH all due respect, love, and charity.
Remember the Sabbath day, I am Lord of the Sabbath. Its a picture of the millennium.
The Lords day is the seventh day. And if you turn the foot from from doing your own things and remember my Sabbath I shall cause you to ride upon the tops of the mountains……You shall be called repairers of the breach. ..

  65. the begin of time the sabbath was introduced in the begin of creation, Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God had made. Ezekiel 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. Even in the 10 commandments, it said in Psalms 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips, even in the 4 commandments it said Exodus 20:8-10 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:.
Q- Why do we observe sunday instead of saturday???
A- We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the catholic church in the council of laodicea A.D. 336 transferred the solominity from Saturday to Sunday and the person behind this was the Roman emperor Constantine who was a sun worshiper who was jealous and really didn't like the Jews made is own rule and power to neglect from the bible that Saturday became Sunday law to the Catholic church who were sun worshiper. Sunday has nothing to do with rising of our heavenly father

  66. The sabbath was merely an old covenant sign and a foreshadowing of the coming of Christ. He fulfilled the sabbath by his coming. We are no longer commanded to observe it. We are actually commanded NOT TO let anyone tell us we have to..

    Hebrews 10:1 NIV
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

    2 Chronicles 31:3 NIV
The king contributed from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals as written in the Law of the Lord.

    Colossians 2:16-17 NIV
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. [17] These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

    Hebrews 4:6-11 NIV
Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, [7] God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” [8] For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. [9] There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; [10] for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. [11] Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

  67. If the first sabbath was the seventh day of creation there were no Jews, so it is not a Jewish day. The sabbath was made for all people.

  68. Christians and Ancient Greeks worshipped on Sunday because it's Jupiter's day, it's Helios' day. Saturday is Saturn's day.
