the very best of the season you don’t
have to buy those commercial ice and must produce fruit cakes from the stores
you can make it at home with or without oven and with the simplest ingredients
make it the tradition treat yourself and your loved ones this season you’re
watching the Filipino food series let’s join Romulo at his small kitchen what
would you smoke Christmas in case you’re watching this during Christmas time
Alejo because tonight we’ll be preparing a very special Pino a delicacy it’s a
premium delicacy it’s fruit cake I remember not many households know this
recipe because in it’s mostly confined to the cities but thanks to the internet
thanks to information technology everyone has no access to the recipe and
even to the equipment needed for this and even for the ingredients this reason
why we are making this in English, kasi, we are not just sharing it to the
country to the entire country but to the entire world some on your home on earth
or by an EVP they’re not even adding fruitcake
Saburo mundo let’s run through our ingredients this
are what we need the circle back flour butter eggs brown sugar molasses their
milk dried fruits nuts cinnamon and of course baking soda and don’t forget just
some salt as in most cakes we’ll start with the dry ingredients without any
particular order let’s mix the flour the cinnamon and the a small amount of salt
plus this brown sugar or butter sugar as it’s cold here and fortunately I have
here this pre doses or pre-measured baking soda this is one teaspoon
banquette and let’s mix the ingredients together mix well I have here two mixers
but like to do it manually to illustrate that no equipment is necessary i just
relized in addition to baking i need to fry the KFC cutter culture recipe for
dinner so I need time that’s why forgive me but I’ll have to use the machine for
the rest of T mixing will combine the eggs and the butter
others should combine sugar instead of the tags I don’t see any difference so I
opted for the eggs this is where we need some help from technology I can use this
a winter’s garden but it’s too tiresome and the dimension takes long so we use
the mixer and let’s start beating the egg and deep
water pitcher have difficulty mixing or beating the butter because inside house
it’s 21 degrees Celsius and I have four cream butter let’s add the flour
cinnamon and sugar mixture gradually it doesn’t look good in camera and they
also realize I using the wrong attachment here it was good for mixing
the egg and the butter but not for butter I should have used a different
attachment let’s add CA molasses and continue with this wrong attachment it
doesn’t mix well we have to replace this it doesn’t look good on camera that’s
the right attachment now and see how well it is mixing our passer and let’s
add some milk that looks more like it and the rest of
the molasses I said have so it’s done let’s get it and let’s continue with the
rest of the task before starting where the task I soaked here the dried fruits
and the nuts and sharing instead of rum or brandy I use sherry is sweeter I just have to separate the liquid from
the dried fruits I don’t want to make the butter right there now let’s fold
add the nuts and the dry fruits into our bottle but we don’t need a mixer for
this is spatula let’s skip the rest we will use the rest of the nuts and fruits
for the toppings mix well or fold well I should say let’s
pre hit you over now let’s put the batter now into our mold and abuse here
parchment paper to easily remove the cake later and the toppings they will be
put first in the bottom so that when we invert the cake they will be on the top
distribute the nuts and fruits for more pleasing it’s at the batter now I’m happy with the consistency it’s not
too wet nor to try but I think it’s on the battery side
I’ve used lots of butter which will get the cake moist with it was a drawing
cake although it’s unhealthy but pata gives or richness to the cake this expensive so let’s put all our
mixture to the mold don’t waste any amount it’s even up to ya but no more this morning this will be the bottom so we have to
platen it as well as possible and do this to remove any air globule
and it’s Dovan good luck and into the oven for 45 minutes at 165 if you don’t
have an oven you can also steam it or you can use a big casserole as the
trending videos have been doing baking without the oven you can do that
Steve is suggested as a better option I remember when I stopped working in
Manila this was the locket I liked it the side
line of many colleagues it would big and sell this to us during Christmas time
and it’s a good market so when I could be entire go to making this let’s check
out ok I inverted mold without shooting a look
at the result very nice let’s apply more liquor or wine on top of our cake
somewhat just brush – with wine but I prefer to be more generous 2 tablespoons
would not be bad it acid aroma if you can only smell it let’s cool it further
down and look at what we have here isn’t that glorious very Christmassy
let’s taste our food Merry Christmas everyone is delicious this is delicious thank you for joining
