Hello, I am pleased to be here today to introduce you to the
many driving assistance systems featured on the new Peugeot 3008 SUV. Adaptive cruise control with stop function is another driving assistance
system that comes with the new Peugeot 3008 SUV. This function is available for all engines with EAT6 automatic gearboxes
with the exception of the PureTech 130ch EAT6. Using the video-camera located above the windscreen and a radar
located in the bumper with a maximum range of 150 metres, this function provides two services. Firstly, it automatically maintains the vehicle at the speed selected by the driver It also maintains a safe distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. The system detects the vehicle driving ahead of you in the same lane and using the engine brake and the vehicle’s braking system (the brake lights then come on), it helps to maintain a constant distance with this vehicle in front of you. If the vehicle in front of you slows down or drives slower than you, the system
will slow down your vehicle and can even bring it to a complete stop. If the vehicle in front of you speeds up again or changes lane, the system will then
pick up speed progressively until it reaches the cruise control speed that you have set. Lastly, if you want to overtake a slower vehicle in front of you, by putting on
your direction indicator, the system will allow you to temporarily get closer to these vehicles in order to assist your
manoeuvre but never exceed the speed you have set. The function is activated at a minimum speed of 30 km/h and is available up to 180 km/h. After braking bringing your vehicle to a complete stop, the system
maintains your vehicle at a stop and the cruise control is therefore paused. If you want to restart, you simply press the accelerator pedal, then reactivate the cruise control above 30 km/h by pressing on one of the buttons on your cruise control. If your vehicle has been stopped by the system and if you do nothing
for a few minutes, the electric parking brake will then be activated. You can adjust the gap with the vehicle ahead of you according to three preset levels. You then simply press on the GAP button of the speed limiter-cruise control
to select from the three levels (Distant, Normal or Close). The value selected will then be stored in memory when you switch off the ignition. The adaptive cruise control detects the vehicles in front of you.
It is recommended for use in urban conditions.
