– Hi, I’m Denise, and I’m studying International
Tourism Management. And I’m in my third year now, and today I’m here with Annouk. – Hi guys. – She is from the Netherlands, and she’s also studying
International Tourism Management. And why is that? Why did you choose the English program? – Well, I’ve always seen my dad working in an international setting. And I don’t know, I just
really liked seeing him with all these different colleagues from different countries, and that’s kind of where
I got my inspiration from. And later, I also would
really love to work abroad. So I thought it’s better for
my English if I already study in English so I can
develop my language skills, and also because it looks
better on my CV, in my opinion. – Yeah, that’s true. Then how do you experience to be together in your class with so many
different nationalities? Because we are all from somewhere else, how do you experience that? – I really love it, especially
because for so many students that come from abroad to
here, it’s all very new and all they have here is their friends. So it kinda feels like a small family. You do so much things together. Yeah, I don’t know. I just really love it. And also, everyone approaches
things in a different way. So I also really notice
with school assignments, if we have group work, that
you work really well together, because everyone brings something
different into the team. – And we don’t live with the two of us, but with two more Germans, so it’s me.
– Yes. – And two other Germans.
(chuckling) How is it for you to live
with the three of us? – It’s great. To be honest, I don’t really notice that much difference between
Germans and Dutch people, because well, we’re kind
of the same, I think. But I really love it to
speak English all day, because well, my German is not that good. But it’s really nice to
just be together, and it’s nice that you’re as punctual as me. That’s great.
(laughing) – That’s true. – So yeah, I just really like it, yes. – Okay, and last but not
least, but do you have any tips or any advice for international students that come to the Netherlands
for the first time? – Ooh, that’s a very difficult question. I think just take things as it go, because
Dutch people are quite open. – (humming) They really are. – (chuckling) Yeah, so they
will probably be very interested in why you’re here and
what you’re doing here. So yeah, don’t freak out if people come to you and ask you
these kind of questions, because we’re also very direct. (laughing) – Yeah. (laughing) – Yeah, just experience as much as you can and go travel in the Netherlands, because we have a lot of great
things to offer, I think. That’s my advice for now. – Okay, thank you for your advice and for answering the questions. And I hope that we can help you a bit, and we will see you in
the Netherlands soon. – Bye. – Bye!
