My name is Yu Yoshiyasu. I come from Fukuoka, Japan. I was a bartender in Fukuoka and now I have lived in Toronto for about 2 years. I had a friend who lived in Toronto for about 5-6 years. I was choosing between Canada and Australia. I felt more comfortable going to Toronto where I have a friend so I chose Canada. I was looking for a College and asked my local agency in Fukuoka for advice. My agent suggested TSoM would be the best fit. TSoM is very international. Students come from different countries. My classmates are from Russia, India, Turkey, Jamaica, Guyana, Ghana, South Korea , Sri Lanka. I learned about Front Desk operations, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping. I usually review my studies at home. I first came to Toronto in February. The cold weather was very challenging. I like Toronto. I enjoy learning about different cultures . I usually bring my lunch to school. There are many restaurants around the school such as Freshii and Tim Hortons if I want to eat out. I have been working in the Food & Beverage industry. Now I’m considering a career change. I want to work at an educational agency. I’m currently practicing my co-op at an educational agency. I hope to get a managerial position and work in the Food & Beverage industry. I enjoy cooking. I live at Dufferin & Queen. It takes about 40 mins by TTC to come to school. I share a 2-bedroom rental with my friend. I pay $550 per person so its a great rental. I would advise students to study English before coming to Canada for college studies. All classes are taught in English. You can gain valuable experiences in Toronto. Come join me in Canada!
